Urgent Care Cost vs Emergency Room Cost
Urgent care saves time, money plus eases overcrowding in ERs (Denver Business Journal)
HCUC & MFMEC offer a 25% "prompt pay discount" to those paying in full at the time of service. We accept cash, major credit cards and personal checks.
Payment in full (except for contracted insurance payments) is expected at the time of service unless special arrangements are made in advance of services.
HCUC & MFMEC participate in very few HMO's. The only HMO's that we currently participate with is Blue Cross and Humana. Scott and White Health plan members can access us thru the PCHS or Texas True choice PPO networks. Otherwise, if you have an HMO, we are probably not in your network of providers. It is your responsibility to know that your insurance is an HMO. We currently do not participate in any Aetna HMO products.
Texas Medicaid prohibits urgent care providers from participating due to it's "gatekeeper" model. You must see your PCP or go to the emergency room for care.
