Class II and III Flight Physicals - available currently only in the Cedar Park and Bee Cave offices

Basic Flight Physicals: $85
Pre Flight-Physical Medical Assessment: $135
  • Aviators with pre-existing significant medical conditions can discuss with the AME what will be required of them to qualify for medical certification.
  • Required medical documentation and testing can be completed prior to the flight physical.
  • Your Pre Flight Physical medical assessment and associated testing is often covered under your major medical insurance.
AME Assisted Special Issuance: $ 115
  • Required for certain chronic medical conditions such as
    • thyroid problems
    • asthma / COPD
    • atrial fibrillation / PSVT / heart arrythmias
    • heart disease - angina / stents / bipass
    • diabetes
    • sleep apnea
    • migraine headaches
    • history of cancer
    • arthritis
    • heart valve problems / valve replacememt
    • colitis
    • some other chronic medical problems
  • May require several hours to several days to complete and process thru the FAA (remember not to wait till your medical certification expires, you may need an extra 1-3 days to complete)
Hypertension

An "AME Asisted Special Issuance" is not generally required for high blood pressure, however it is required that you have within the last 90 days the following test performed:

  • EKG: $45
  • Venipuncture $11.25
  • Basic Metabolic Panel $33.75
  • Cholesterol Panel $37.50
  • Documented Cardiovascular History and Physical Examination $135 (can be done as part of a pre flight physical medical assessment)

These test and the medical evaluation are often covered under major medical insurance (your flight physical is not). If you already have your required test done, please bring your test results and the clinical record of your most reccent cardiovascular exam from your physician to your scheduled Flight Physical. If all your documents are in order and current, you will not need to repeat anything.
